One Day Maybe
One Day, Maybe was an immersive, site-specific production by DreamThinkSpeak, created for Hull UK City of Culture 2017. Set in a repurposed office building, the show unfolded across four floors — drawing audiences into a layered and unsettling vision of the near future.
The narrative imagines the UK launch of a mysterious Korean tech conglomerate, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of South Korea’s Sixth Republic. The company, a global pioneer in surveillance, gaming, and navigational technologies, unveils its innovations for governments and corporations — inviting guests to explore its sleek but shadowy world.
Vent Media led the design and programming of the show’s extensive video and visual systems, overseeing the creation of all new video content and imagery across the production. With over thirty video projectors mapping content throughout the space, the experience blurred boundaries between theatre, technology, and installation.
Innovative techniques such as interactive VR, Pepper’s Ghost illusions, and live data capture were woven into the fabric of the show — immersing audiences in a multi-sensory, deeply cinematic world where fiction and future began to merge.
One Day, Maybe was a haunting exploration of technology, memory, and control — a prophetic glimpse into a future just around the corner.
